The 4 Money Jars
The 4 jars help kids to manage their money effectively. They'll learn how to spend it, save it, grow it and give it back to their community
Earning Pocket Money
Pocket money is essential for understanding the value of money, and that it's something you need to work for, not get for free!
Starting with Physical Notes and Coins
The tangible nature of physical notes and coins is integral for understanding how we spend and earn money
Having a Bank Account
While it may feel early to open a bank account for your child, kids need to understand how "invisible money" works alongside physical notes and coins

Frequently Asked Questions
Why start now? My child is so young!
Did you know that the University of Cambridge conducted a study and found that children begin forming money habits by the age of seven? This may be far younger than you had imagined!
Our courses are designed to start young so that kids can build their habits from an early age, and grasp the basics of money in a way that will impact their relationship with finance as they grow up.

Can my child take this course independently? Or will I need to help?
This course is designed to be hands on with parents/guardians, and your involvement is crucial in guiding their learning journey! Each topic will have a number of Parent Activities to complete together.
Depending on your child's age and level of understanding, you may also need to supervise them through each video lesson.

Why do I have to pay my child pocket money?
While we of course agree that there are certain tasks children should do around the house as a contributing member of the family, it's also essential that they have a chance to learn that money needs to be earned. TALK ABOUT SAFE SPACE TO FAIL, ETC. ETC.
What device/browser does Mind Over Money® work on?
Our courses are designed to work best on a computer or tablet using Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. We highly recommend that you use these for the best experience.
Why can't I access all the lessons at once?
These courses have been designed to be taken once a week with a 3 to 8-minute video and sometimes an accompanying Parent Activity.
Research has shown that completing lessons in bite-sized intervals is the most effective way to absorb and retain information. Each lesson builds on the next. The topics are drip-fed in order to not overwhelm kids with too much information, which is why you will find that all of the content is not available at once.
You are welcome to customise your child's pace to your schedule, but each month you will only have access to a maximum of two new topics, amounting to 8 lesson videos.

How much screen time will this add to my child's day?
We understand that kids are surrounded by technology, and you want to encourage them to step away. That's why our lessons are only 3-8 minutes long, and made to be taken once a week.
Which course should I choose for my child?
We've designed each course with the suggested age range (6 to 8 year-olds for Rising Rockets and 9 to 12 year-olds for Soaring Stars) in mind. However, you know your child better than we do: you are welcome to choose the course you think will suit your child better!
With our 14-day money-back guarantee, you have time to trial a course and see which one is better for your child. As a general rule of thumb, we would suggest that if your child is within 6 months of turning 9, they might like to take Soaring Stars rather than Rising Rockets.
